Prison architecture impact on detainees
_Synopsis
Over the course of a year, we will follow the commissioning of the new prison of Uerschterhaff in Luxemburg, from the handover to the prison staff to the arrival of the first prisoners.
If a prison is but the reflection of the society that creates it, can its architecture, as cutting-edge as it may be when it comes to standards and technology, solve the problems of detention conditions on its own?
Beyond Walls documents the relation to and impact of a penitentiary’s architecture on its inhabitants.
